Bargello mania has hit. Diana (quilting instructor) told us that learning to sew a 1/4 inch seam is a must. What better way to practice sewing straight lines than with a Bargello pattern. First you cut strips of fabric and sew them together.

Connect your strips into a barrel shape.

Press and flatten on cutting board. Cut barrel into strips.

One by one you rip open a seam and lay flat. Strip #1 was opened at fabric #1. Strip #2 was opened at fabric #2 and so on.

Giving you a lovely design. Add as many rows as you want and then you sew your strips together. One day this will turn into a table runner for my sister. Sooooo Diana, I made 3 barrels. Two are the same size and one is WAY off! I cut all the fabric the same day but sewed 2 strips one day and one strip the other. Don't have a clue what I didwrong. Live and learn!
