The turtles are nesting where they are because it's a good sunny spot, and they often return to the same place year after year to nest. Many species of turtle are in trouble, and if you can do anything to help them, especially protecting the nests from predators, you'd be making an important contribution.

wow! Thanks for the info. I will take a look at the sites and see what we can do to keep our turtles around and healthy.
