buttermilkPIE

Our monthly quilting day has arrived. Coasters, Christmas quilt, Flower of the Month, Sea Creatures and Origami Bags round out the collection. Believe it or not we actually cut and sewed today. Of course lunch is always the highlight of the day. Ginny made her famous Buttermilk Pie and if that wasn't enough a Peanut Butter Pie too. Boy, were they good. Sky wanted to dive in the pie but due to her recent stomach blockage, pie is a no no. Great ideas, great projects and great friends to share them with. What more could you ask for!

intheMAKING

Daisy Chain fabric by Amy Butler is the hot new print for spring. Fatty, fatty 2 x 4 pattern features large 12 inch blocks and small 3 1/2 inch blocks within a block. Green, blue, brown and navy flower prints are the patterns selected for the next Sable quilt top. A soft flannel backing will complete the project.
The great plaid jumped in my arms at Jojo's last sale. Nice bright colors for the guest room twin bed. Blocks and strips will make this a fast and easy quilt to sew.

mardiGRAS

When what to my wondering eyes should appear, but a UPS driver delivering not toys but King Cake. Yes, Mardi Gras is here!
Shipped fresh from LA. it's a King Cake delivered straight my door step.
The King Cake Tradition-
The Mardi Gras season begins on Jan. 6, or King's Day, also referred to as the Epiphany or Twelfth Night, marks the meeting of the Three Wise Men and the infant Jesus. It has become tradition to celebrate King's Day and Mardi Gras season by sharing a delicious king cake. King cake is an oval-shaped cake that is made of gourmet cinnamon dough, iced and decorated with sugars in the Carnival colors of purple (for justice), green ( for faith), and gold (for power) A tiny, plastic baby representing the infant Jesus is inserted into the cake. Tradition holds that the person who gets the piece with the baby in it is obligated to bring the king cake to the next party. The Mardi Gras season comes to a close on Fat Tuesday, the day before Ash Wednesday.
(On the box)Disclaimer- Due to the potential hazard, we cannot insert the baby Jesus into the king Cake prior to shipping. Instead, the baby Jesus is placed in the center ring of each cake so that you can insert the baby Jesus yourself.
My, my this cake is good! If you are up my way, stop by for a piece.
Brandi, you out did yourself on this one.
Order your cake at www.rouses.com
p.s. Richard is feeling a little better.

eat-a-thonSUPERBOWL

Tit-tat-tar Gang

The gangs all here and so is the food. Beans, mac and cheese, sausage balls, bean roll-ups, meatballs, cake, pie, and brownies. What more could you ask for on the Super Bowl menu.
Mike and Janet hosted this year's party. As you can imagine we all had plenty to eat and drink and were ready to settle down for 2 hours of great commercials! Yes folks, we girls only care about one thing. Not who wins or loses, not even who is playing in the game but who has the best ads. Personally I always love the Bud horse and his pal , dalmatian. Who can fetch the biggest stick?
As you can see from the pictures the ailing boys are up and around. Mike with the new knee and Doug with a new leg. Is that a winning combo or what! Great times, great food.
Next get together, March 29th, Amentrount's place.
