lucy'sSTASH

Lucy's Christmas Collection is complete. Amazing! Great Christmas patterns, bright, bold and fun. Candy canes, Christmas trees, peppermint candy and pine cones. Wow, you have it all. There is plenty of fabric between the two of us to cut our quilt, then trade some patterns, make another and have 4 completely different, but fabulous quilts. I know each one of you is on the edge of your seat waiting to see this happen. Updates soon!

ChristmasCOMPLETE22

Just when you think you have seen it all.
Guess what? More patterns have been added to the Christmas Collection. For a Turning Twenty quilt, you need 20 fabrics plus borders, binding and backing. The cranberry and cream check pattern is for the back of the quilt. The paisley (second fabric) in the first and second picture is a border. The quilt will be mixture of the remaining fabrics in no particular order.
Katie is happy with the new cutting table and comfy bed.

chaosTWO

Chaos Two looks good. The yellow binding strip is a great addition to the color scheme. Now if only the sewing fairies will come in and blind stitch it during the night!

SPRING

The Spring quilt is out. Do I like it? I am not sure. The quilt looks more like my sister than me. The colors are nice but I am just not sure.

The first three pictures are missing the dark blue. It just seems too much in person, so I took the blue out. I mixed the shapes up in the blocks. I don't know if I should leave them or turn them the same in the row or what. Hummmm.. ...

LEFTOVERS

Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to my sister on Monday the 12th. So in honor of her birthday, I made her a quilt from the scraps of her two Chaos quilts. The Chaos pattern was called Chattanooga Sushi so I titled the scrap quilt Sushi Leftovers. I cut all the scrap fabric into 4 1/2 inch strips and sewed them end-to-end.Then I cut 6 foot strips and sewed them together. The binding is a mixture of all the pieces. I will do that again, it gives the quilt such nice color. The quilt was a lot of fun to make. No fussy corners, no squares to square and no borders to worry over. I do however have a renewed appreciation for Jody and her machine quilting work. This was my first and last attempt at machine quilting.
The pillowcases are trimmed in the fabric to match the quilt with the remainder of the case in flannel to match the quilt back. My sister has the new pillowcases on the bed and the quilt turned down a bit to reveal the flannel quilt backing. My sister is not usually fussy about these things, I am thinking she is really happy with the whole collection.

christmasFABRIC

The Christmas Fabric Collection is complete.
After several trips to different quilt shops, the selection looks ready to go. Now, to select a pattern. I am still up in the air over Chattanooga Sushi or Ashley's Journey, from the Piece of Pie collection. Both patterns have large blocks of different sizes. I don't want the fabric pattern hidden in tiny little bits and pieces.
