All the Whos down in Who-ville.....
New fabric! How the Grinch Stole Christmas fabric just arrived.
I don't know what I will make with it yet, but just having it to touch and smell makes me happy.

wheninNEED

Recently in the Chester area, 32 children lost their homes due to a fire.

That set the wheels in motion for a sew day like no other.
Lucy thought it would be nice for each child to receive a new pillow and pillowcase.
We checked our fabric stash and picked out some bright kid prints.
Each pillowcase consists of a 2, 11 and 27 inch piece of fabric. That will make a cuff, trim and body of the pillowcase.
We start by stacking and pinning the fabric into a roll. Sew across the top, "birth" the fabric out of the end of the roll and you have a nice cuff, trim and body piece with no visible seam.
5 sewing maniacs and 6 hours later you have 36 pillowcases ready for delivery.
We will save the 4 extra for the Waldorf sale later in the year.
What fun!

thelatest,GREATEST

The sewing group is always looking for something new to sew.
Today our project was a pie/casserole carrier. Zelda made bunches of them and came up with some pattern short cuts. That allowed us to sew these holders up in no time.

Karl had to try two cupcakes just to be sure they were edible.
