Woo-hoo, the art quilt wall hanging is done. What fun! Check it out my sister and let me know if you want more stitching in the flower petals.
Next, on to Peggy's T5 using 6 prints!

Who Dat!
Not to be out done by the gold-caped wonder of last week's game, Brandi made her own New Orleans Saints game cape.
Check out the Christmas trim on the bottom. What a game it was. NFC champs for the first time ever in the Saints history.
The city of New Orleans will party until the Super Bowl!

Art Quilt Number One

Yes, I am insane. Art quilt class with Diana seemed like a great idea at the time. Okay, I guess it was a good idea but I underestimated the amount of time an art quilt takes to make.
Hours and hours of sewing and the background is complete.
My sister arranged the flower petals to suit her, it is her wall hanging by the way. I started the project with the completion planned for Jan. 12, my sister's birthday. Well, that date has come and gone and at least the background is finished. I am usually much better at planning and finishing things on schedule.
Now on to the flower.
Wish me luck.......

thebigGAME

Game Day! Sorry gang I forgot to load the game day pictures from the phone yesterday.
Saints vs Buccaneers, Sunday December 27, 2009.
The kids got us tickets to the big game and Rick and Connie Sable presented us with the team shirts for Christmas.
Who Dat? The team saying is a hoot. It was not a lack of fan support that lost the game for the Saints. The Saints fans are loud and loyal and let you know it from the first play of the game. I am not even a football fan but had a great time. Yes, we were in the nose bleed section but we did not miss a play. I love having instant replay on the big screens. If Monacan High could get that for me next year I would appreciate it!
The dome as most of you know is in the heart of downtown and easily reached by riding the street car. A short walk after the game will take you to the cassino or French Quarter. Of course we headed to the Quarter because we are always hungry and there are great places to eat . Cafe Maspero, a fried seafood cafe was the choice after this game. We only waited about a half hour in line which is great for Maspero. The line to get inside will wrap around the block on most days.
The kids will most likely head out of New Orleans this summer thanks to the CG but we will never forget the Big Easy, it is a town like no other.

Return of the Jedi! Yes folks, I know you were all thinking Nita is a movie star out of the Jedi movie but NO, she is simply trying on her new snuggie like robe. Zipper, snaps and instructions on the box, this is no easy task getting the thing on. It took three of us to help her out of it! Having the gang at the farm for lunch is the best way to start the holiday season.

As always the girls take the dining room and leave the boys in the kitchen.
Check out Doug's new toy. What was Nita thinking when she purchased a hatchet for the gift exchange? We will all be REAL nice to

Doug from now on.
On to New Orleans to visit the children. We were surprised to meet the new kitty cat Sheldon. Did they need another pet you ask? Who am I to talk with three cats and Katie Kate!
On to Baton Rouge for Christmas Eve. Shela has a fabulous new white Christmas tree. More pets you ask? Yes, that is Chloe and Tucker with Glenda in the chair. On to Joe and Mina's house for Christmas Eve supper.

Gumbo is at

the top of the list every year.

Pho Bang breakfast is our New Orleans way to start the Christmas Day feasting. Noodle soup and grilled pork are the best. Too bad it was only 63 degrees in the restaurant.
Then on to Picayune, Mississippi to visit the Sables. Connie decorated the house in gingerbread men to match the quilt the kids gave her for Christmas. Shrimp gumbo to top off the

Mississippi menu. Presents opened and lunch served then on to a cut throat game of Nertz! Serious card playing with this group.
A fun filled Christmas for the whole family. All good things must come to an end so home we went.
Grace had the Mary Kay girls together for lunch on Tuesday. Sarah is soooo grown up! It was great to have a chance to catch up with the team again.
Wonder where we will spend the holidays next year?
