Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all! Yes folks, it was Christmas in July at the McConnell's place. A few good friends, lots of food and Christmas music to top it off. Sometimes we all need to slow down and take some time to remember the important things in life. Christmas is a special time for friends to get together so why not do it in July.
Some of us mark the month as a turning point in life, out with the old and in with the new. A time to put the past in the past. Whew! What a relief to finally let go. Way to go girls!
As you can see we could not get together without some quilt talk.
Diana's quilt is beautiful, as always. Charlie has been busy painting the Tulane Tower.
Zelda has been bargain shopping at Target again, hence the favorite t-shirt of Bon Qui Qui.

It is Christmas quilt time. Only July you say? Yes, but the longarm shop gets very busy around holiday time so you have to start early. The kids picked out this gingerbread collection when they were here a few weeks ago. The pictures show the top 1/3 of the quilt, plus the borders of peppermint and gingerbread men and gingerbread houses and the whole quilt without any borders. This pattern is call Perfect Ten because it features eight framed squares to highlight the design. No, I did not come up with the pattern, I actually paid money for it. Oh well, eight, ten, who is counting....

Gayle is in town for a hot minute so off to Tropical Smoothie we go. Lori stopped by from work to say hello and Kitty made her annual I-am-off-for-summer-break stop in Chester. Great time had by all. Come back soon Gayle!

A quick trip to the island is just what we needed. A flea bag hotel to stay in but the rest of the trip was great! Beach Dog t-shirts and fudge are a vacation must. The pups had fun swimming and digging. Weeks later Sky still has sand in her coat. I just had to get back to the island.......

Haircut time at the farm. Katie Kate and Sky had a nice trim. Sky got the usual and Katie Kate had a trim to help with the allergies. No more mohawk on the head for Katie.

Happy Birthday to me! The Lunch Bunch partied at the Longhorn for lunch today. We were joined by Liz, LJ and Taylor. What a nice surprise. They came with gifts but the camera died before I could get pictures of the gifts at the restaurant. Brandi and Richard bought the Hour Glass for me. Brandi knows I love the goofy things that flip with liquid or sand. Thanks for a great day!
