Well, well, well, where to start. Wednesday we kicked off Lucy's Birthday with lunch at El Patron. Tasty Mexican food, Lucy's favorite. Wednesday night we quilted at the library with the Happy Quilters of Chesterfield. Lucy made her first purse for her friend Debbie. Friday we gathered at the farm for more quilting and lunch. We never miss lunch. Peanut Butter pie, Aunt Beck's Pound Cake and Strawberry Cake from Vicki's secret kitchen called Walmart. Things were progressing nicely. Ginny sewing dolls for Duke Hospital, Debbie scrap booking, Lucy lending a hand to press or stuff purse handles and The Very Hungry Caterpillar moving along okay. Next thing we know Vicki, who fights with her machine on a regular basis, sews a flower head pin into her purse. We had no idea her machine would sew through a pin top. Needle nose pliers and Ginny to the rescue! Now folks, I would like to tell you the trouble stopped there, but nooooooo. Vicki decides to bird nest three yards of red thread on to six inches of purse backing. Looked like Mt. Saint Helens had been relocated in Chesterfield on the back of the Parrot Head Bag! Needless to say we all got a laugh out of this. Now you may remember reading about the plastic sewing incident a while back. Yes, Vicki strikes again. Poor Girl finally finished the bag around midnight, just kidding, it only took till five.
The fun never ends. Happy Birthday Lucy!
