woo-HOO

Off to the Goodwill to find t-shirts for a practice quilt made of t-shirts. As you can see we have quite an assortment. Sharks,
Tinkerbell, Nags Head and more. First you trim the neck and sleeves out of the shirt, cut up the sides, back with iron-on Pellon, trim around the design and sew. Jody showed us how to intersect our corners giving us the collage look. We won't mention that Lucy cut Tinker's legs off , but that's all in the learning experience. Zelda stopped by to get a first hand look at our progress. Thanks for a great class Jody! A fun time had by all.

hollyBERRIES

Holly Berries long arm quilting pattern in red thread looks great on the gold fabrics of the Christmas quilt. Lesson learned, think about the quilting pattern and thread color when choosing your fabric and pattern. The Christmas quilt is based on the Turning Twenty pattern with the border strips cut in half length wise and used as a second border instead of the first. The corners turned out really nice. Love the colors!
Next is my Sister's Daisy Chain fabric quilt. Same Turning Twenty pattern but I split the 10 1/2 inch square in to four blocks. Scrap strips sewn end to end and cut to quilt length gave the four borders a different look. Nothing boring going to my sister's house.
