tittattargang

It is that time again folks! Cookout for the gang. Seafood is the food of choice.

NOLA may have canceled their seafood festival but not the tittattargang. Grilled shrimp,
chilled shrimp, crab salad, crab corn soup and to top it off, HUSHPUPPIES. Yes sir, we had deep fried, southern, sweet hushpuppies. The southern specialty is a small corn meal dumpling. At

least that is how the Food Lover's Companion describes them. We just say drag them through the butter and pass them our way.
Nita may have had one too many puppies! No just kidding. It was great to have the gang here once again. Next gathering Oct. 26. Theme-chilli. See you then.

aquiltingwewillGO

After a nice hardy lunch at Ledo's Pizza ,off to Jojo's Quilting Shop we go.
Zelda supervises the fabric cutting. The quilting shop lady can cut several pieces at the time. Maybe someone should help the little ladies at Wal-mart.
You notice we are all lining up at the register to purchase something. Of course Cindy is the only one in the group that can quilt,

so she helped me pick out a nice grouping of fabric. Heaven only knows what I will do with it.
Zelda helps with the bolt selection. All in all it was just a fun shopping experience with the Lunch Bunch!

swallowtailBUTTERFLY

Swallowtails come to visit every summer and lay their eggs on my garden.
Dill, fennel and parsley seem to be the plants of choice.
They start out as an egg the size of a pin head, hatch to a black caterpillar with a white stripe and
get the nice color after a week of so. They eat their way through my herbs each year. When the caterpillars are munching on the fennel, you can smell the licorice scent of the plant a few feet away. They can eat a four foot fennel plant in a week.

banditcomestoCAMP day7

Day 7 at camp includes the nature walk. Katie is harnessed up and ready to hit the trail.
Camp must include lots of exercise to keep the pups busy, so off we go to the field. Deer, turtles and rabbits are everywhere. Let me tell you, when two terriers spot a rabbit in the field they take off like sled dogs in Alaska.
Let me at them!

Day 6 is pool day. No way, not going to happen, not getting wet! Bandit is not up for swimming.
Bandit had rather dismember a toy!
Katie Kate tries to tempt her but it is just not working.

banditcomestoCAMP day5

A day at the spa. Thursday is bath day at camp. Katie is allergic to everything on earth so she has to have a bath every week. Poor Bandit didn't know about this ritual. Bandit is one happy dog!
Katie says "here we go again". So it is a laundry sink and not the spa but dogs don't know the difference!

banditcomestoCAMP day4

A hunting we will go....
Day 4 at camp is hunting day. Terriers are born hunters and nothing bigger than an ant lives within the limits of the backyard fence for very long. The pups hit the scent trail and captured that pesky vole!
Oh, the taste of vole in the morning...
